Srinagar, november 26: The Department of Horticulture, Kashmir today celebrated Constitution Day and on the occasion a pledge taking ceremony was held at Directorate of Horticulture Kashmir, wherein Director General, Horticulture Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat administered the pledge.
On the occasion, the DG highlighted the uniqueness of the Indian constitution and said that as a citizen of India, we must adopt and follow it in letter and spirit and should uphold the values and principles of the constitution.
The Ceremony was attended by Deputy Director Horticulture, Assistant Director Horticulture and other officials of the Department.
Similar, preamble reading ceremonies were also held at all subordinate offices of the Department.
The Agriculture Production & Farmers welfare Department (AP&FWD) Kashmir also celebrated Constitution Day with Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal initiating the Samvidhan Day celebrations from Anantnag.
The Director on the occasion along with other senior officers/officials of the Department took part in the preamble reading ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director said that the Constitution Day is being celebrated to commemorate the adoption of the constitution of India.
Chowdhary said that these events aim to reiterate and reorient the citizens towards the values and principles expressed in the Indian constitution and encourage all the Indians to play their rightful role in strengthening the democracy.
Joint Director Agriculture Extension, Joint Director Agriculture Inputs, Joint Director Agriculture Engineering, Joint Director Apiculture and Mushrooms, Deputy Director Planning, Chief Agriculture Officers and other senior officers of the Department were present on the occasion.
The Constitution Day was celebrated across the valley at all agriculture offices from Zonal Level to Chief Agriculture Offices.
