Doda, November 25: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Doda, Dr RK Bharti today chaired a meeting to review the registration of unorganized workers on the National Database for Unorganized Workers (NDUW)-e-SHRAM portal in the district.
The ADC was informed that 80% ASHA workers (1038 out of 1293 ) & 529 out of 1079 Anganwadi Helpers, 352 out of 1519 MDM workers and 40% of the Rehri vendors besides others have been registered till date in the district.
E- Shram portal has been launched by the Govt of India for registration of unorganised workers free of cost by themselves or through Common Services Centres.
Under the imitative, a range of workers including ASHA workers, Anganwari workers & Helpers, Auto Drivers/ cleaners, Street Vendor, Small Shopkeepers, Cobblers, Carpenters. Milkmen, Domestic workers, migrant workers, Agriculture & plantation workers, Fishermen, Rickshaw pullers, Mid day meal workers, small shopkeepers, Gig and platform workers are targeted to be registered to extend to them various benefits .
The unorganised workers in the age group 16 to 59 years registered on the portal shall be eligible to get automatic 2 lakh accidental insurance and 1 lakh insurance on partial disability.
On the occasion, the ADC directed the officers of all the departments to designate a Nodal officer to liaison with the Nodal department (Labour department) for better coordination and desired registration.
The ADC further asked to rope in the workers in medical and health organisations/ establishments/ Shops, tourism sector, Handloom & handicraft workers, domestic Helpers, members of SHGs and workers associated with food processing services for extending benefits of the scheme to all eligible beneficiaries. He set a 30 day deadline for 100% registration of all eligible beneficiaries in the district.
On the occasion, the ALC distributed literature containing detailed information about the scheme among the concerned district heads for awareness and requested them to monitor the registration on daily basis.
The ADC stressed on involving PRIs, NGOs and Youth Clubs in dissemination of information and awareness in rural areas.
The meeting was attended by ALC Doda, CMO Doda, CAO Doda, CAHO Doda, CHO, DSWO, DIO, BDO headquarter, EO MC Doda, EO MC Thathri, AD Fisheries, CDPO Doda, representatives of MVD, District Coordinator CSC, besides other officials of the concerned departments.
