Ramban, november 23: District School Education Department, Ramban has launched a community mobilization enrollment drive, here at Neel area of the education zone Banihal.
On the occasion, the speakers highlighted the main features of the program and urged the parents and local people to admit their wards in government schools to get quality education besides taking benefits from student oriented schemes.
They also sought cooperation from parents to minimize school dropout rate besides urging them to provide education especially to their girl child.
In his address, the ZEO, Banihal, AR Giri listed the facilities being provided to the students of different categories including financial assistance in the form of scholarship, uniform and mid day meal.
He said that the enrollment drive has been organized on the directions of the Director School Education Jammu, Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma and Chief Education Officer Ramban Vinod Koul, especially in rural and far-flung areas of the district. The students of different schools presented a cultural program on the occasion.
Meanwhile, locals thanked the Education Department for organizing such a drive. PRIS, parents, teachers, students and other locals were present during the programme.
