Kulgam, November 20: The Regional Director, Survey and Land Records (S&LR), Dr. Mohammad Hafiz Shah today visited Kulgam and presided over a daylong mega Sensitization programme organized by Revenue Department Kulgam to sensitize the peoples/Land owners about the Land Records Information System (LRIS), ‘Aapki Zameen, Aapki Nigrani’ portal.

LRIS is a unique initiative of Jammu and Kashmir Government under Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP).

In his address, the Regional Director appreciated and complimented the revenue authorities for exhibiting zeal and zest vis-à-vis completing the process of scanning of these land records.

He apprised the participants that the scanned record is purely based on existing data and any grievances in this regard should be brought into the notice of concerned authorities.

Shah impressed upon concerned officers to ensure vigorous Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign throughout the district to apprise and sensitize the people about LRIS.

Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC Kulgam, Riyaz Ahmad sofi said that the land records are now accessible to everyone. He said this is a significant move aimed to preserve Revenue records, besides ensure easy access to Land Records to people at a single click.

During the programme, participants through PowerPoint presentation were informed about the procedure to access the Land Record information by logging in at http landrecords.jk.gov.in to facilitate the people of the district so that they can check their documents.

During the programme an interactive session was held and several questions and queries of people were answered.

ACR, Kulgam also informed the participants that District administration has established more than 272 facility centers/ Nodal point across the district to facilitate people to get their Land Records who personally are not able to access their records.
