Anantnag, November 18: In view of Janjatiya Gourav Saptah, a public hearing was today organised at block Pahalgam under the chairmanship of District Development Chairperson (DDC) Chairperson Anantnag, M. Yousuf Gorsi.
On the occasion, various representatives of the tribal community panches, sarpanches, social activists etc highlighted the issues and demands of the community besides the achievements and role played by the community in various sectors.
The DDC chairman while addressing the gathering said that the aim of organizing such programmes is to raise awareness among the tribal community about their rights, schemes meant for them besides raising and addressing the issues of the said community.
Further, he stressed on education, participation in gram sabhas, involvement in developmental activities etc of the community besides, thorough light was shed on the welfare schemes for the tribal community.
The District Officers of various departments like Animal husbandry, RDD, Sheep husbandry, Education, Revenue, Forest etc raised awareness about the schemes of government particularly those for the tribal community like FRA, Yogyata se Rojgar Mahotsav, Aap ki Zameen Aap ki Nigrani, etc.
Assistant Commissioner Planning, Anantnag highlighted the schemes in vogue like Har ghar nal say jal, Har ghar dastak and plantation by social welfare, etc.
Colourful cultural programme was also presented on the occasion by Tribal community
The programme was attended by SDM Pahalgam, Tehsildar Pahalgam, CEO Anantnag, CAHO, CSHO,BDO Pahalgam, AD FCS&CA, Officers of RDD, R&B, and other sectoral officers besides PRI members and large number of people from Tribal community.
