Doda, November 18: District Administration Doda is bracing up to launch a massive Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign to spread awareness about Jal Jivan Mission in the district.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Vikas Sharma discussed the modalities here at a meeting attended by functionaries of Jal Shakti department and officials of Grameen Vikas Trust (NGO).
The meeting was informed that Jal Shakti Kendra has started the uploading of the newly created Pani Panchayat Simitis village wise on the designated portal & data of 258 out of 400 Simitis have been uploaded till date. The DDC directed to place banners & hoardings at prominent places in villages for wide publicity of the Jal Jeevan Mission initiative of the government.
It was informed that Grameen Vikas Trust has been allotted 80 villages of Gandoh, Chilly Pingal and Kahara blocks for IEC activities. The DDC asked the Grameen Vikas Trust representatives to share the calendar of activities with his office and start the campaign from village level for better implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in the District.
The meeting was informed that the Detailed Project Reports have been formulated for all 204 JJM water supply schemes estimated to cost Rs 706. 88 crore.
It was further informed that Village Action Plans (VAPs) for 214 villages against 400 targeted villages have been uploaded on the designated portal, while out of total 224 ongoing schemes, 29 have been completed and work on 195 is in progress.
The meeting was attended by CPO Doda, ACP DODA, DIO Doda, Xen Jal Shakti Doda & Bhaderwah, besides other officials of Jal Shakti department.
