Poonch, November 16: District Legal Services Authority Poonch, in collaboration with department of School education, organised a programme on children’s day here at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Sheesh Mahal.
Students of various high schools of the District participated in the programme and took part in painting competition, Debate & Quiz competitions. The students who had earlier participated in the essay competition were also felicitated.
The event was held under the guidance and direction of Ashok Kumar Shavan, Chairman District legal Services Authority Poonch and under the supervision of secretary DLSA Wajahat Hussain Kazmi .
Secretary DLSA Poonch Wajahat Hussain Kazmi was the Chief Guest of the programme attended by about 300 students and staff of different schools. He spoke on the rights of the children in light of the constitution of India and laid stress on skill development and over all development of the children.
Joint Director School education Department, Mr. Zabair Hussain Shah, while speaking on the occasion also highlighted the rights of children including education and welfare.
The Principal of the host school also spoke on the occasion. All the students who participated in the quiz, painting and essay writing competition were also felicitated by giving them mementos and certificates of participation. The staff members of DLSA and Para Legal Volunteers also attended the event.
