Udhampur, November 15:- To Commemorate the birth anniversary of iconic Tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda being celebrated as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, an impressive function was today organized by District Administration here in collaboration with Gujjar & Bakerwal Hostel .
Regional Director Survey and Land Records, Nawab Din was the chief guest on the occasion.
At the outset, Assistant warden Gulsher Ahmed presented a welcome address and threw light on the life of Tribal Freedom Fighter, Birsa Munda. During the programme, Students of the G&B Hostel also presented a Gojari folk song.
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest highlighted the importance of the day. He said that the Tribal fighter played an important role in the struggle for Independence. He called upon the participants to emulate and follow the path of Birsa Munda who led a rebellion against Britishers.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Hostel Warden Shakeel Ahmed.
