Reasi, November 15: For better coordination between Civil Administration and the armed forces in resolution of various issues of public importance in the District Reasi, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi Charandeep Singh today chaired the Civil Military liaison meeting here at Conference Hall DC Office Complex.
Detailed deliberations were held on various issues, which includes disbursement of rental compensation, non release of rental compensation by defence estates, Assessment of structure/Dhoks, Activities/project taken by Army under Sadbhavna, measures taken by Zila Sainik board for the welfare of ex-servicemen, Identification of land for Zila Sainik welfare board, Welfare of the serving soldiers, Disaster preparedness, Law & order etc discussed in detail.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner welcomed the participants and spelt out the importance of holding the civil military meeting for better Coordination between civil administration and the Armed forces in resolution of various of the larger public interests. He informed that an amount of Rs.16676774 is pending for disbursement as on date. He added that the said amount has not been disbursed due to discrepancies in the classification of land in the release order issued by Defence Estate Officer Udhampur.
Defence Estate Officer Udhampur was asked to depute his representative well versed with the subject along with relevant records in the office for reconciliation of records so that discrepancies are removed and payment to the legitimate beneficiaries shall be made at the earliest.
DC apprised that out of 36 cases the assessment of 23 structures has been done by XEN PWD Mahore.
The Army Officer apprised the meeting that Medical Camp at Bharakh/Talwara and tuition classes at Banna were organized by Army under Sadbhavna, however no activity has been earmarked in the year 2020-21.
Zila Sainik Board Officer Reasi was asked to furnish the list of the ex-serviceman in the district and all the welfare measures like Marriage assistance Schemes, Distribution of Sewing Machine shall be made by the board in consultation with the District Administration. Charandeep Singh said that land measuring 5 kanals has been identified to the Zila Sainik Welfare Board and Revenue papers have been made. It was decided in the meeting that all necessary action for the redressal of the genuine grievances of the families of the serving soldiers shall be taken by District Administration.
The DC emphasized that the Army shall furnish the list of resources and equipment available with them for inclusion in the District Disaster Management Plan. He further said that in case of Disaster all the stakeholders viz Civil Administration, Police, SDRF and Army shall work in tandem to mitigate the sufferings of the affected people.
ADC, Abdul Star, ACR Sanjay Badyal, Major SK Bhardwaj QM, Sub Dy.Supdt of Police DAR Reasi, Col. Sukhbir Singh Assla, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, XEN PWD (R&B) Mahore and other district officers were present on the occasion.
