Samba, November 08: District Administration Samba, as a part of 100% saturation of beneficiary oriented schemes, today held an assessment camp for Divyangs and Sr. Citizens for free distribution of assistive devices/Aids and appliances, here at block Ramgarh.
The assessment camp was organised by the Department of Social Welfare in collaboration with the Artificial limbs manufacturing Co-operative of India (ALIMCO). A team of doctors conducted the assessment of persons with disability (Divyangs) and Sr. Citizens.
As per the Social Welfare Department, more such camps will be organized across district Samba in next one month.
The persons registered during the camps will be provided free assistive devices, Aids and Appliances under ADIP (tricycle, Wheel Chairs, hearing aids, crutches, walking sticks etc) and under RKY (Dental, eyes other etc) Scheme of Govt. Of India.
District Social Welfare Officer, Deep Kumar informed that more than 90 persons including Sr. Citizens were assessed during the special assessment camp at Ramgarh. He said during the month of November camps shall be organized at Vijaypur, Rajpura, Purmandal, Nud, Ghagwal, Sumb, Samba Bari Brahmana as per the scheduled dates and timings.
