Samba, October 29: District Administration Samba today organized various rural games in all 101 Panchayats of the district as part of Iconic Week Festivals and under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.
Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta said that the initiative aims at promotion of local rural games and to channel the energy of youth in the right direction. She said the day witnessed both indoor as well as outdoor games. “With active participation of our PRI members the rural games were conducted successfully across all the panchayats in the newly developed playfields and Schools” added DC samba.
District youth services and Sports Officer Kiran Jyoti informed that the rural games including Kho-Kho, Kushti, Gulli danda, Santolia, Kabaddi, Russa kashi, Satapu, Gitte, kikle, kanche besides other indoor games were also held . “More than 1500 children participated in the rural games across 101 Panchayats of district samba, ” she informed.
The BDC chairpersons, Sapranches, panches, besides field staff of Sports departments and locals witnessed the sports events.
