DC Reasi sanctions Rs 3.50 Lakh relief in favour of Farmers affected by hailstorm

Reasi, October 28: Deputy Commissioner, Reasi S. Charandeep Singh today sanctioned an amount of Rs 3.50 Lakh relief under SDRF in favour of 179 beneficiaries whose crop was damaged due to the recent hailstorm.

The sanctioned amount was credited directly into the respective bank accounts of the eligible beneficiaries through DBT mode.

As per the directions of Deputy Commissioner, an extensive field survey was conducted jointly by Revenue and Agriculture Department to ascertain the extent of damage to the crops.

The joint team conducted a survey in affected villages of the District where standing crops were damaged due to hailstorm and subsequently the relief cases were prepared and sanctioned within four days of the occurrence of the disaster.

The Deputy Commissioner also visited villages along with a team of Agriculture, Horticulture and revenue officials to assess the crop damages.
