Jammu, October 26: Youth Services and Sports Department today organised a wall climbing event under the ongoing Iconic Week Festival at Surinsar.
The event witnesses overwhelming participation of students from Higher Secondary School Surinsar and local youth of adjoining areas.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer, who was chief guest on the occasion, appreciated the participants for their enthusiastic participation in this sports event. He said that such events in these far off parts play a significant role in further encouraging youth towards taking games as an integral part of their lives for their overall personality development.
The Div Com, while highlighting the broad contours of the event, said that the Iconic Week festival is an initiative of Jammu and Kashmir Government towards tapping the tourism potential of the region. In this regard, various activities are being organised during the carnival to give a push to tourism activities
Among others CEO Surinsar Mansar Development Authority, Gurvinderjeet Singh, Deputy Director YSS, Jatinder Mishra; District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Sukhdev Raj; other senior officers of YSS and Tourism besides DDC member Nagrota, Joginder Langeh, Sarpanch Surinsar, Bodh Raj, Dogri Singer, Varsha Jamwal attended the function.
