Kathua, October 26: Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Zone Akhnoor today organised cleanliness drive to spread the message of neat and Clean surroundings under ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’-celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence.
The drive was conducted at Panchayat Devipur of Block Bhalwal Brahmana with focus on the local business community conveying them the harmful effects of single use plastic and the health benefits of keeping the surroundings neat and clean.
The cleanliness drive was organised under the chairmanship of District (DYCC) officer, Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma and supervised by Zonal Physical Education Officer, Akhnoor, Tarsem Singh.
Earlier, the staff members, involved in the drive, flagged off by Ganesh Dass, Sarpanch Panchayat Devipur from GHS Devipur. Ganesh Dutt, Incharge GHS Devipur, Madan Lal, PEM GHS Devipur were among those prominent present.
Meanwhile, locals of Panchayat Devipur appreciated the DYSS for organizing such programmes for the welfare of general masses.
