JAMMU: The recent killing spree in the Valley is testimony to fact that Modi government has badly failed to provide security to common people and its tall claims on peace and normalcy in Kashmir are nothing but big lies.

This was said by PDP leaders during a presser held at its party headquarters in Jammu. They condemned the killing of three civilians, including prominent pharmacist Makhan Lal Bindroo and 2 school teachers namely Deepak Chand and Supinder Kour by terrorists in Kashmir, and justified the party president Mehbooba Mufti’s demand for dialogue with Pakistan to negotiate lasting peace in the subcontinent.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Spokesperson Anil Sethi and Mohit Bhan accompanied by General Secretary Amreek Singh Reen expressed anguish over the targeted civilian killings in past one week which including 3 people from the minority community of Sikhs and Kashmiri Pandits.
Party Spokesperson Anil Sethi said ”PDP strongly condemn the killing of three civilians, and asserted that violence is no solution to any problem. This vicious cycle of violence must be ended,” he said.
He defended the stand of party president Mehbooba Mufti to initiate dialogue with Pakistan to restore lasting peace in the subcontinent and said dialogue is the only mean to solve all vexed problems.
”The visionary path shown by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee is the only way to restore sustainable peace in this region. Dialogue is the only option to establish peace in this region,” Amreek Singh Reen said.
Talking to the media persons Mohit Bhan came heavily on the current administration and held the current dispensation accountable for the lawlessness and mayhem in the entire UT.
He said that there is deep sense of insecurity amongst the minority in valley at the moment. “I have received frantic calls from various PM package settlements and the fear in the voice sent shivers down my spine. The ghost memories of 90s have resurfaced amongst the minority community be it Sikhs or Pandits or non local labourers. I would urge the majority community especially the youth to reach out to fellow minority community friends, neighbours, acquaintances and pay them a visit, call them, text them and stand with them as they need you more than ever today”, he maintained adding that the repressive measures and iron fist policy of local administration under the guidance of central government, be it raids on business establishments, booking journalists under stringent laws or terminating employees by becoming the judge, jury & law in the name of curbing the militancy has seen no positive impact on ground instead the situation has gone worse from bad.
“It’s also a total collapse of law & order and the streets have been painted red by blood. While the administration is busy offering picnics, photo ops opportunities and showcasing cosmetic normalcy to central ministers, they have forgotten they live in a land which is marred by conflict for decades. These incidents are also the fallout of the lack of experience of those who have been parachuted from Delhi to rule here without any prior administrative experience to handle conflict zones.

State Secretaries Rajinder Singh Manhas, Ashok Jogi, Satpal Singh Charak, E Peter, Balbir Singh, S.Sukhwinder Singh, S.Ranbir Singh Manga, Sunil Bhatt and Sohit Sharma were also present.
