Leh, Oct 05: The 4th Wildlife Board meeting of  the Union Territory of Ladakh  was held under the Chairmanship of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur yesterday.

Deliberations were also held on the development of habitations inside wild life sanctuaries and management of feral dogs.

Further, it was informed that as decided in the previous meeting, the decision to appoint Sarpanches and officers of the 14 Corps as honorary wildlife wardens has been implemented. Similarly, for the establishment of wildlife safaris, an international snow leopard centre and brown bear centre, the chair was informed that further steps are being taken.

WildLife Institute of India (WII) updated the chair on the progress of their report for the rationalization of boundaries for Changthang and Karakoram wildlife sanctuaries assigned to them.

The meeting was attended by CEC Leh Tashi Gyalson, Advisor Umang Narula, Principal Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal and stakeholders from different departments and organizations
