Leh, Sep 30: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur today interacted with a group of students from Kargil who are on an exposure tour of Leh district.
During the interaction, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor appreciated the students for having set their own ambitions and stated that they must study to become professionals and stressed on the importance of being self independent.
Addressing the students’ requests for better facilities and opportunities in extra-curricular activities, the Hon’ble LG spoke of the importance of additional activities for shaping one’s personality and urged each one to nurture an activity of their choice, while assuring the administration’s support in ensuring realization of their ambitions.
Additionally, he also stressed on the need for each student to be aware of one’s identity as a citizen of Ladakh and urged them to gain knowledge on various aspects of Ladakh, viz its cultural heritage, wildlife, geology, avifauna etc.
LG Mathur also spoke of various interventions being done for the betterment of Govt. schools and informed the students that with the implementation of CBSE next year in all Govt. schools of Ladakh, further developments such as infrastructural and quality of education etc, will be noticeable in the coming years.
Importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle by making exercising a part of daily routine, developments in the field of sports etc were also touched upon during the interaction held at Conference Room, State Building, Leh.
