JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 10: An Online demonstration of the Tripura model of State Procurement Portal was held today at Krishi Bhawan Talab Tillo with the purpose to replicate the same in Jammu Division.

The Demo was hosted by National Informatics Centre (NIC) Delhi in collaboration with NIC, Jammu where the Department of Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare, Jammu and FCI also participated.

Director Agriculture Jammu, K. K. Sharma outlined that Development of E- Procurement Portal is the need of the hour in view of the ensuing Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2021-22 so that   timely registration of farmers on the portal can be completed before the start of KMS, 2021-22. This initiative will pave the way to hassle free procurement of Kharif produce from the farmers and facilitate transparency in direct money transfer in the accounts of concerned farmers as per MSP notified by the Government there by eliminating the role of middlemen, he added.

The Representative from NIC, Delhi asserted that they are keenly working for the implementation of Tripura procurement model in Jammu and requested that any required corrections/ addition in Tripura model may be intimated soon so that same may be put in place for early replication of said model in Jammu. It was also informed that the procurement portal will streamline the procurement process and to automate the manual process eliminating time wastage and human errors.

Those who attended the online demo included Joint Director (Extension) Rajan Sharma, Joint Director (Marketing, PHM Infra & Farm Mechanization), S. A. S. Reen and SMS II, Vikas Padha besides others.
