Jammu: DOMANA police has initiated a comprehensive and commendable strategy to seriously check and book those indulging in sale of banned killer ‘gattu’ (Chinese kite flying thread) in violation of District Magistrate, Jammu order.
Sensing the gravity of menace caused by ‘gattu’, the SDPO Domana Sh. Kosheen Koul (KPS) constituted team of Police which carried series of crackdown in different areas under the jurisdiction of PS Domana.
Consequently, the police team led by SHO Domana Insp. Mahesh Sharma assisted by ICPP chinore PSI Avtar Krishan acting tough against the sale of banned synthetic threads(gattu) raided several shops and arrested one person namely Manohar Lal s/o Gopal Dass R/o lakshmipuram Jammu and recovered 04 Rolls of Chinese Manjha/gattu from his possession. During further investigation, a reliable input was recieved that a person namely Sahil Behal is dealing in the sale of gattu in the area. Based on the input, a naka was laid at Bantalab and a vehicle Honda City bearing registration number JK02AL-3404 was stopped and during checking of the said vehicle, 64 rolls of Manja/gattu were recovered. The driver of the said vehicle has been arrested and identified as Sahil Behal S/o Rajesh Kumar R/o 169 Bakshi Nagar, Jammu. On his further disclosure, further 1018 rolls of Chinese Manja/gattu have been recovered from a godown at Talab tillo Jammu. On these recoveries, case FIR No. 244/2021 and 245/2021 have been registered at PS domana and further investigation has been taken up.
The arrest and recoveries have been made under the under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural jammu Sh. Sanjay Sharma and under overall supervision of SSP jammu Chandan Kohli (ips).
