KARGIL, AUGUST 23, 2021: Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve today chaired a meeting of the District Advisory Committee on Youth Programmes during which he approved the annual action plan of Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Kargil for the year 2021-2022.
District Panchayat Officer (DPO) Kargil Ghulam Muhammad, General Manager, District Industries Center (DIC) Kargil Iftikhar Naseem, Assistant Director Information Kargil Muhammad Ali Tak, District Youth Officer NYK Kargil Jigmat Spaldon, Youth Club Members, National Youth Volunteers besides other members of the advisory committee were present during the meeting.
During the course of the meeting, District Youth Officer NYK Kargil apprised the Deputy Commissioner and members of the committee about various month-wise programmes proposed during the financial year 2021-2022.
The meeting was informed that various programmes like orientation of youth under Atma Nirbhar Bharat-Youth Mapping, Skilling and Handholding, Personal Contact Program and Facilitation Campaign, Education in Basic Vocations, Digital Facilitation- preparation of a cadre bank mitras, Career Guidance and Career Counselling, COVID-19 Interventions, Establishing Disaster Risk Reduction and Preparedness Teams, Youth Led Fit India Movement, Youth Wellness and Positive Lifestyle including issuance of Sports Materials to Youth Clubs, District and Block Level Sports Meets, District Level Promotion of Art and Culture, Training of Youth on Clean Village, Green Village and Jal Jagran Abhiyan, Youth Club Development Programme, observance of days of national importance, District Youth Convention, Swacchta Awareness Evam Shramdhaan in connection with the Celebration of 150th of Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Awards to Outstanding Youth Clubs at District and State Level, District and State Level Declamation Contest on Patriotism and Nation Building and other related programmes.
The Deputy Commissioner Kargil directed the District Youth Officer NYK Kargil to ensure the involvement of all coordinating agencies and concerned departments for successful execution of various programmes at the district and block level. He suggested to involve the ITI Department in holding various programmes related to orientation of the youth and the Handloom and Handicrafts for organizing events related to educating youth in basic vocations.
While underlining the importance of career guidance and counselling programmes to be organized at a larger level, DC Santosh Sukhadeve instructed the District Youth Officer NYK to hold such programmes in collaboration with the Employment Department Kargil. He also stressed for organizing the training of youth on Jal Jagran Abhiyan in collaboration with the PHE Department Kargil.
Members of the committee also put forth their suggestions and inputs with regard to the holding of youth based programmes from time to time.
Meanwhile, the meeting was informed that there are at present 178 youth clubs in the district with a total membership of 1678 male and 1002 female members and a total of 32 Nehru Yuva Volunteers (NYVs) in position.
