NGO ‘White Globe’ in collaboration with J&K Police organizes Short marathon for girls

March 27:A short marathon “Kuwat-ul-Nisa” was organized by a NGO ‘White Globe’ in collaboration with J&K Police. The half marathon event with the theme to create awareness about cyber crimes and menace of drug abuse in society evoked overwhelming response.

SP Hazratbal Shri Irshad Hussain Rather-JKPS flagged off the run which started from Duck Park and culminated at Nishat Gardens. Around 800 girl children from various schools/institutions participated in the event.

At the culmination of the marathon, a prize distribution ceremony was organised at Nishat Parking where SMC Commissioner Shri Athar Amir Khan-IAS was the chief guest. Among others Ms. Nighat Aman SSP Security Secretariat, SP Hazratbal Shri Irshad Hussain Rather, Dy. Mayor Shri Parvaiz Qadri, famous singers Irfan & Bilal were also present.

Sara of New Convent bagged 1st position, Nazia of Manigam Higher Secondary Ganderbal 2nd position and Iqra of Govt Middle School Krishipora bagged 3rd position. The winners of the event were congratulated and prizes were distributed among them by the officers present on the occasion.

While addressing the participants, SP Hazratbal appreciated them for taking part in the marathon and their determination to make the event a success and hit the ground on time. SP Hazratbal also appreciated the enthusiasm shown by very young girls in displaying their commitment to complete the run.

At the conclusion of the event, members of NGO and the participants of the event thanked J&K Police for their efforts in making the event a success.“`
