KARGIL MARCH 23, 2021: Commissioner/Secretary School Education and Urban Development Department, Ladakh Ajeet Kumar Sahu called on the Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan at Council Secretariat Kargil here today.

During the course of the meeting, various issues regarding urban development like the Kargil Town Master Plan, extension of Municipal Committee Kargil limits, water supply during winter months in addition to issues related to the school education like placement of lecturers, expediting of contractual lecturers, rationalization of schools, implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 as well as Council Model Schools came up for discussion.

Issues of the Junior Nurses who were recruited recently through outsourcing also came up for discussion.

CEC Feroz Khan stressed on the early extension of Kargil Municipal limits to enable realization of developmental works keeping in view the increasing population in the town and its vicinity.

The Commissioner Secretary Urban Development Department informed that the issue was under active consideration of the UT Administration.

Feroz Khan also took up the matter of exclusion of Ladakhi Lecturers from the list of 1700 lecturers posted as Senior Lecturers by the Government of UT J&K and urged him to resolve the issue at the earliest. Further, he sought the immediate attention of the UT Administration towards considerate posting of Nurses from Kargil who have been posted in remote regions like Changthang and Nubra of Leh district after they were recruited through the concerned outsourcing agency.

Responding to the issue, Commissioner/Secretary Sahu said that the UT Administration will try to find appropriate solution to the issue.

While discussing the Council Model Schools, Commissioner/ Secretary Sahu stated that the UT Administration was willing to provide special funds to these schools. He further said that the kind of community mobilization done by the Council Model Schools was exemplary and need to be further supported financially.
