Kupwara: (Press Release): The Deaf and Mute Association Kupwara has been working for welfare and upliftment of young deaf and mute kids since a decade. The association, in collaboration with Humdard-E-Kupwara Battalion organised a fun trip to Gulmarg and Srinagar for twenty such specially abled students.
The group included 02 translators, 15 male and 05 female students from in and around Kupwara. The tour was flagged off from Kupwara on the morning of 08 March and reached Gulmarg by afternoon.
The students were amused and astounded to see the natural beauty of the landscapes and were delighted to experience fresh snowfall as well.
Next day, the group enjoyed various tourist attractions pf Gulmarg including Gondola ride, snow games and visit to Maharaja Palace. The visit enhanced their knowledge about kashmiri history and culture and acquinated them with the rich heritage of their mother land.
Third day was also filled with enjoyable and enriching experiences which included visit to High Altitude Warfare School and Shikara ride in Dal Lake, Srinagar.
“These students will remember this trip for life time. They are coming to Gulmarg for the first time in their lives.” said Rashid, one of the translators accompanying the group. The association was promised that Indian Army will support and help them in various other aspects too towards overall personality development of the children
