Leh, Feb 24: After meeting with concerned officials to discuss pashmina development-related issues, Deputy Commissioner Balasaheb Shrikant Suse today visited the Pashmina Dehairing Plant at Industrial estate. District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Leh, Dr Tundup Namgyal; Deputy Registrar Cooperative, Leh, Dr Mohammad Abbas; In-charge Executive Engineer, R&B Division, Leh, Ghulam Nabi, and All Changthang Pashmina Growers
Co-operative Marketing Society (ACPGCMS), President, Dorjay Stanzin accompanied DC Leh to the pashmina dehairing plant.
During the visit, DC Leh was apprised about the working condition of the dehairing machine and the need to repair and maintain the pashmina dehairing plant. The officials also highlighted the importance of purchasing new machinery to reduce wastage and producing more yield. DC Leh also reviewed the progress of the new dehairing plant currently under construction.
DC Leh impressed upon the officials to finish the construction of the new pashmina dehairing plant at the earliest.
