Leh, Feb 16: Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk convened a meeting today with the officers of Education Department Leh at the Council Secretariat to discuss strengthening of govt. schools and review issues pertaining with regards to the department.

The meeting discussed issues such as increasing the number of Council model schools, strengthening of govt. schools with community involvement and public participation.

Dy Chairman Angchuk directed concern officials to check and resolve the pending issues regarding regularisation and salary of RAT employees in the department. He also informed the meeting regarding the decision of clubbing ICDS with Education Department. He also assured hill council’s intervention in formulating innovative suggestions given by the officials and told the meeting that he will stress upon implementing them in the education sector from the beginning of the new session in March this year.

The meeting was attended by ZEOs and concerned officials of Leh district headed by DEPO Leh, Tsetan Tashi.
