Leh, January 19: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, R K Mathur was called upon by Executive Councilor (RDD/Sheep), LAHDC, Leh Tashi Namgyal and submitted a draft proposal booklet justifying their demand to grant separate district status to Changthang region. He made a request the Lt. Governor to recommend their demand to the higher authority of Government of India.
BJP Youth Wing, Drass, Kargil also called upon the LG Ladakh. In a representation, he requested the Lt. Governor to consider the public grievances and demands of sub-division Drass including filling up of vacant post of SDM and Tehsilder Drass, declaration of Drass sub-division under Actual Line of Control sector, granting Drass a district status, opening of Drass- Gurez road, to operate Pawan Hans helicopter services in Drass, special reservation in the distribution of seats in LAHDC, Kargil and special reservation in recruitment in Ladakh Scouts for Shina community to mention some.
LG Mathur gave assurance to look into their representations for due consideration.
