Poonch, Dec 28 : A father-daughter duo affiliated with Congress party, took Oath as District Development Council (DDC) members in Poonch district of Jammu division on Monday.
According to the news agency— the two recently elected DDC members are Abdul Ghani and his daughter Nazia Ghani.
Ghani, a senior Congress leader and Party’s District President won DDC polls from Poonch constituency while his daughter Nazia Ghani won from Nangali Sahib Sai Baba constituency.
The duo emerged victorious after defeating Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates in their respective constituencies.
On Monday, Oath ceremony was held at Poonch Degree College wherein Deputy Commissioner (DC) Poonch administered oath to the newly elected DDC members.
The father-daughter duo also took oath, vowing to work for upliftment of masses. “We will work for development of our constituencies in best possible manner and will leave no stone unturned in serving masses,” they said—(KNO)
