Handwara December 21: Handwara Police continued its efforts to reach out the needy and poor families living below poverty line who were effected badly due to pandemic Covid-19. In this regard, HandwaraPolice added helpful gesture and distributed COVID-19 protection kits under civic action programme of J&k Police among poor and needy families residing in the jurisdiction of Police District Handwara who cannot effort to purchase such protection/ Safety kits. Each kit consists of masks, Sanitizers, Oximeter, Inhalers, Thermometer, Soaps, Shields and other essential items for virus protection. A medical team from District Hospital also participated the distribution function and performed a detailed demo about how to use these items provided to them.
The distribution function was held at DPL Handwara where protection kits were distributed by Superintendent of Police Handwara Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS besides DYSP DAR Handwara Shri Raqeeb Malik-JKPS and other officers of Police were also present present on the occasion.
On the occasion, SP Handwara said, ” Handwara Police early took initiative on the out break of universal pandemic Covid-19 to reach out the poor and needy families especially residing in the far flung areas of this Police District who were badly effected during Covid-19 lockdown period. In this connection, today’s distribution programme of *Covid-19* safety kits is to provide such items among these families as a mark of helpful gesture”.
People in general have appreciated the role of Handwara Police while tackling pandemic COVID-19 from initial stage till now.
