Leh, November 26: November 26 has a unique historical significance as it was on this day in 1949 that the Constitution was adopted, and, thereafter, came into force on January 26, 1950, marking the beginning of India as a republic. To commemorate this day the UT Secretariat Ladakh organized a pledge taking ceremony to celebrate the ‘Constitution Day’ or ‘Samvidhan Diwas’ in the conference Hall of UT Secretariat to Mark the 71st anniversary of adoption of the Constitution by the Constituent Assembly.

The pledge was administered by Commissioner/Secretary, General Administration Department, Ajeet Kumar Sahu.

Advisor Ladakh, Umang Narula, Commissioner Secretary, Rigzian Sampheal, Secretary/Divisional Commissioner Ladakh, Saugat Biswas, Adm. Secretary Department of Law & Justice, Preet Pal Singh and Administrative Secretary Ravinder Kumar took part in the pledge ceremony.

All the staff of UT Secretariat undertook the Pledge by maintaining social distancing and other norms of Covid
