Kupwara: (Press Release) Diwali and Childrens Day was celebrated in full zeal and enthusiasm with Awam of far flung villages by reaching out and inviting them at company bases. Celebrating Diwali with locals reinforced the genuine relations between Army and locals and sent a strong message that Army deployed in villages is weaved culturally as well with the Awam. Also, it was a great joy for the soldiers who on this day were far from their homes and villages.

It was very heartening to see Children participating in Childrens Day celebrations despite chilling weather. Children were greeted with sweets and many fun activities like drawing and distribution of medals for Wushu Championship were organised for them. Children hold soldiers in high regards and this celebration brought them closer to their heroes who otherwise are saluted from far.

Children were very happy to have been cajoled by the men in uniform and were motivated by them to join the profession of arms.
