Pulwama, Nov 05 : A shopkeeper was shot dead while a Sumo driver was shot at by the unknown gunmen on Thursday evening in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said.

Officials while divulging the details, identified the slain shopkeeper as Muhammad Ayoub Ahanger, son of Ghulam Ahmad Ahanger of Tral, saying that he was fired upon by the unknown gunmen, leaving him severely wounded.

Soon after the incident, officials said he was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. They said the area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.

Meanwhile, a sumo driver was shot at by unknown gunmen in Wanpora area of Kakapora belt in South Kashmir’ Pulwama district, officials said while identifying the injured as Muhammad Aslam Wani (30) of Wanpora Pulwama.

Wani was taken to nearby hospital where he is undergoing treatment, an official said, adding that the area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers—(KNO)
