Srinagar:(Press Release)  Imamsahib 44 RR launched Cleanliness Drive under Swatch Bharat Abhiyan at Model Village Woyen Imamsahib .

Shopian, 05 Nov: imam Sahib 44RR Army Camp organised cleanliness drive under Swatch Bharat Abhiyan at model village Woyen imamsahib

In addition to efforts of local administration, Imam Sahib COB took initiative and successfully persuaded local of Model village Wuyan to launch cleanliness drive in sync with the aim of Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) which is to achieve a clean India.

The campaign was started with an awareness lecture to make the villagers and students aware about plastic free zone, waste disposal management and to motivate locals to adopt cleanliness measures. The locals actively participated in the cleanliness drive and voluntarily contributed whole heartedly towards the social cause.

The students were educated about the benefits of cleanliness, prevention of various communicable diseases and the threat of epidemic due to unhealthy and unhygienic environment. Students were encouraged to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in their homes and surrounding areas. Students took a vow to throw garbage at nominated places only and keep their surrounding area clean.

A team of Army and civil medical doctors provided quality medical treatment and free medicines. A health awareness campaign was also conducted at the venue to discuss issues about hygiene, sanitation, diseases and drug abuse.

The Indian army later distributed eatables among the children who participated in this Cleanliness drive with great enthusiasm.

Meanwhile the locals lauded this effort of Indian Army and requested that it must continue in future as well.
