KARGIL OCTOBER 31, 2020: Like in other parts of the country, the National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas), 2020 was observed in Kargil district with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm.
To mark the day, the employees of all the departments and Government offices, PSUs and other public institutions at the District Headquarters, Sub Divisions and Blocks took the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge while reiterating their commitment to dedicate themselves to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation besides striving hard to spread this message among other fellow countrymen.
Meanwhile, speakers on the occasion paid rich tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary by remembering his extraordinary works for keeping India united, his role in the freedom movement in freeing the country from the clutches of the British government and his exceptional administrative skills and foresight.
Pertinently, the National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is observed every year on October 31, on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who is also known as the ‘Iron Man of India’. The National Unity Day, 2020 commemorates Patel’s 145th birth anniversary.
