SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 17: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan today felicitated Basit Bilal Khan for his historic feat by securing 99.98 percentile in NEET-2020 exam.
Basit hails from Narwa village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district and has scored 695/720 in the NEET exam with all India rank of 188 with topmost rank in J&K and is all set to get a seat in MBBS.
Basit today called on Advisor Khan at his official residence here where he interacted with the Advisor who enquired about his field of interests, strengths, difficulties and his approach to qualify the prestigious exam.
He congratulated Basit for qualifying the exam and topping from Jammu and Kashmir despite facing many odds while hoping that he would inspire many other youth from the region to crack other prestigious exams in order to serve the society in the best possible way so that their energy would be utilized for the development of the nation.
Interacting with the Advisor, Basit said that he was feeling gratified for the honour he is receiving and conversed about his time management with regard to the studies and the books he studied to clear the exam successfully.
On the occasion, Advisor Khan remarked that J&K is full of fertile minds but the need is to provide them proper exposure to an environment where they would hone their skills to excel in their respective fields.
“I urge all youth of J&K, as they have huge potential to excel in any field of their choosing like Basit does, to try their best for achieving excellence in their chosen fields,” Advisor Khan remarked.
On the occasion, Advisor Khan gifted Basit Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine of volume 1 and 2 and Ganong’s Review of Medical Physiology.
Basit thanked the Advisor for honouring him with books and pledged to serve the society and people at large after finishing his MBBS.
Meanwhile, Advisor Khan also unveiled Jersey of Downtown Football Club.
On the occasion DF Club’s coach M Hanief was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Advisor Khan wished the team and the management good luck in their endeavour and hoped that such sports activities would reach every nook and corner of Kashmir valley.
He said that the government is committed to give impetus to all sporting activities so that J&K youth wouldn’t remain aloof from the development of country and be part of nation building.
