Kupwara: October 15 is observed worldwide as “ Global Hand Washing Day “.The day is dedicated to increase awareness about hand hygeine and make people understand the importance of Hand washing with soap as an affordable and effective way to prevent diseases and save lives . This day assumes greater importance in the current scenario where the entire world is combating the pandemic of COVID-19.
Keeping this in mind 28 RR BN- Awwal Athhais , under the aegis of HQ 8 Sect RR with the motto *#Clean hands -Happy hearts* reached out to the awam , in educating them the importance of hand washing and the correct method of hand washing techniques.
A diverse population of Awam including children , adults and school teachers were taught about the correct hand washing technique of “ Wet – Lather – Rinse – Dry“.
The correct timing of hand washing for 20 secs was reiterated and children were encouraged to follow the same , in an innovative way by singing “ Happy Birthday song” twice whole hand washing which would account for an approx 20 secs .
Hand washing solutions were also distributed to the awam during the said event. The crowd was grateful for this initiative of the army in reaching out to the the awam and humbled by the innovative and pertinent efforts by the army to stand by their side in Combating this Pandemic.
