Jammu: Security forces here in Jammu’s Akhnoor sub division have recovered a consignment of arms and ammunition suspected to have been air dropped in an area inside Line of Control in the area.
Officials said that joint teams of army and police headed by SDPO Akhnoor Ajay Sharma launched a Cordon and Search Operation in an area of Akhnoor located several kilometres inside border.
” The area is located at the point where LoC and IB joins each other.” said officials.
They added that during operation, a well packed bag was recovered with 2 AK assault rifles, 3 AK magazines, 90 AK bullets, 2 Pistols and pistol magazines alongwith bullets have been recovered from the bag.
” Operation in the area and further investigation into the matter is going on.” said officials.
They added that preliminary it also aeem to be a case of airdropping of weapons using drone.(Agencies)
