KARGIL SEPTEMBER 11, 2020: A condolence meeting was held today at the Language Center New Academy Complex Kargil to condole the sad and untimely demise of Balti poet Nassir Hussain Khemat who passed away yesterday morning.
During the condolence meeting, staff members of Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Kargil besides members of Balti Association Kargil and Mendoq Tsar Dramatic Club Hardass, Kargil expressed deep sorrow and grief over the untimely demise of Nassir Hussain Khemat.
The speakers paid rich tributes to the deceased soul and said that his death is a great loss to Balti language and literature.
Recalling his literary contributions, the speakers stated that the deceased poet has contributed notable services towards the promotion and preservation of the vernacular languages and literature and his contributions will be remembered in all times to come.
The participants present in the condolence meet expressed their deep felt sympathies with the bereaved family in this hour of grief and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
