Jammu, Sep 10: Crime Branch Jammu on Thursday registered a case against the South Kashmir’s Anantnag resident for allegedly drawing relief and ration worth lakhs of rupees under the migrant quota.
According to a statement, Crime Branch Jammu said that it has registered a criminal case against accused – Mukhtiyar Ahmed Sheikh, son of Sultan Sheikh of Achabal, Anantnag, a government employee in Health department at Mattan, Anantnag for his involvement in drawl of Relief and ration worth lakhs of rupees, under the Migrant quota, by resorting to impersonation, forgery after hatching criminal conspiracy with officials and officers of Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Jammu.
A written complaint was lodged by Gani Maqbool Chairman AntarrashtriyaUpbhoktaKalyanSamiti Kashmir Province General Secretary BJP Anantnag Organization, with Crime Branch on behalf of the complainant – Ali Muhammad Paddar, son of Muhammad Sultan Paddar of Achabal Anantnag wherein he had mentioned that the complainant approached him with an application stating that he is a carpenter by profession and he never migrated from Valley to Jammu, nor did he manage any original ration card under cash assistance from Relief Commissioner Jammu but alleged that his neighbour Mukhtyar Ahmed Sheikh, son of Sultan Sheikh of Achabal Anantnag who is a government employee in Health department at Mattan Anantnag Kashmir, took the advantage of his gentleness, innocence and illiteracy and forged/prepared bogus ration card in his name in the Relief Organization Jammu for cash assistance category under Migrant quota.
The accused fixed his own photograph on D.Form and thereby impersonated himself as Ali Muhammad Padder and also opened a bank account at Canara Bank Shalimar Road Jammu. He has drawn lacs of cash from the bank besides ration quota from Govt. Ration Store meant for migrants etc.
Taking cognizance into the matter a preliminary verification was conducted by Crime Branch Jammu and during the course of enquiry it came to the fore that the accused with the criminal intention hatched a criminal conspiracy in connivance with the officials/officers of Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Jammu and prepared fake ration card by submitting fake and forged documents of the complainant and caused wrongful gain for himself and corresponding loss to the government exchequer.
The omissions and commissions, thereof, on the part of accused Mukhtiyar Ahmed Sheikh prima facie constitute offences punishable under sections 419, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B RPC. Accordingly, a formal case is registered in P/S Crime Branch, Jammu against the above mentioned accused person and others for in-depth investigation—(KNO)
