NC’s PAC in meeting reviewing strategy for legal battle against abrogation of Art 370 & Art 35 A , withdrawal of statehood

Srinagar, Aug,29: National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Saturday morning (11:30 Am) called an important meeting of the party’s top decision making body political affairs committee to taken a stock of fastly changing political situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

sources privy to developments at the National Conference headquarters told Kashmir News Service that while the members including Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, Ali Mohmmad Sagar, Mustufa Kamal,Abdul Rahim Rather Mohammad Shafi Uri,chourdary Mohammad Ramzan, Main Altaf, Mir Saifullah. Sakeena Itoo, Shameema Firdous, Nisar Aslam, Aga Ruhullah, Kamar Ali Akhoon , Haneefa Jan, Shami obrai, of political affairs committee from Jammu region are participating via video conference , the members from Kashmir and Ladhak are physically attending the meeting.

The agenda of the meeting is totally focused on discussions for strategy to be adopted for contesting the case filed in the supreme court of the country against abrogation of article 370 and article 35 A and also the J&K Reorganisation Act 2019 Enacted to divide the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state.

Interestingly this is the party’s first high powered meeting called by National Conference after the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35 A and also bifurcation of erstwhile state into two union territories.

Sources told  that question of any compromise on restoration of Article 370, Article 35 A and bifurcation of erstwhile state into two union territories does not arise at all. He said that Gupkar declaration is a historical decision and all the signatories to this declarations are committed to it and there is no question of any signatory back tracking over the commitments.
