New Delhi Aug 22: An Islamic State militant has been arrested in Delhi after a brief exchange of fire in the heart of the city.
Pramod Singh Kushwaha, Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), said, “One ISIS operative has been arrested with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) by our Special Cell after an exchange of fire at Dhaula Kuan.”
The IEDs were defused by a team of the National Security Guards (NSG).
The operative has been identified as Abdul Yusuf Khan, a resident of Uttar Pradesh. He was arrested near Ridge Road between Dhaula Kuan and Karol Bagh. The police have also a recovered pistol on him
The police claim Khan was a lone wolf operative who had on his own planned an attack in the national capital
