NEW DELHI, Aug 18: Former Member Parliament, Dr Karan Singh today mourned demise of popular Indian classical singing legend Pandit Jasraj, who breathed his last in the US after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 90 years of age.

In a condolence message issued today, the former Member Parliament said “With the death of Pandit Jasraj ji, a wave of mourning has raged in the world of music. For the last 40 years, his melodious voice and his prior authority over classical music brought the sweet aroma of music to crores of countrymen and also abroad. Apart from classical music, Pandit ji also loved to sing Ghazal. He was known to me for the last more than 50 years. I have had the privilege of listening to him on many occasions and in many places, which are unforgettable.”

“An important chapter in music ended with his demise. He has left but his music will be with us forever. I pay my respectful tribute to Pandit Jasraj ji and express my condolences to his family and millions of fans,” the former Member Parliament said.
