Srinagar, Aug 06 : Four more persons including a senior Revenue Officer died of COVID-19 in Kashmir, thus taking the toll of deaths due to the virus to 434 in the UT. With fresh four deaths, the toll has crossed 400-mark in the Valley.
Officials told that four patients who died today include a 55-year-old patient from Molu Chitragam, an 82-year-old man from Nowgam Srinagar, an 80-year-old male from Malbagh Srinagar and a 68-year-old woman from Handwara.
An official said that a 55-year-old senior Revenue Officer from Molu Chitragam who was presently posted as Naib Tehsildar Watchi Shopian died of COVID-19 on Wednesday evening.
DDC Shopian and many other officers especially from Revenue department have expressed grief over his demise.
“It’s with huge grief that we share the demise of our Naib Tehsildar, Wachi Maqbool Wani Sb after he lost his battle against Covid y’day at SKIMS. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. He was a gentle, hardworking man & an asset for the Distt. May Allah SWT grant him Jannat.Aameen,” DDC Shopian Dr Yasin Choudhary tweeted.
An official from SKIMS Soura said that an 82-year-old man from Nowgam Srinagar who was admitted on 03 August died on Thursday.
He added that an 80-year-old man from Malbagh Srinagar who was admitted on 05 August also died on Thursday.
An official from SMHS told that a 68-year-old woman from Handwara who was admitted 28 July with hypertension and bilateral Pneumonia died on Thursday.
He said that her first COVID swab was positive while as her second report is awaited.
With four deaths, the death toll in J&K had reached to 434 including 403 from Kashmir division and 31 from Jammu division—(KNO)
