Leh, August 5: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, R K Mathur was called upon by various delegations at Raj Niwas today.

Dr Indu Bhushan, CEO National Health Authority and his team called upon the Lt. Governor and discussed various health-related issues and requirement of health facilities in the UT of Ladakh.

The Executive Director Projects, NHIDCL, Anand Kumar Pahal along with GM, Leh NHIDCL Bipin Kumar Chand and Site Engineer Namgyal Dorjay, NHIDCL met with the Lt. Governor and apprised him about the work status on five tunnels including Zoji-la and Z-mod on Leh-Srinagar highway and Taglang-la, Shinku-la and Lachung-la on Leh- Manali highway.

Sonam Wangchuk Shakspo, Secretary Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Memorial Society submitted a memorandum requesting the Lt. Governor to sanction a fund of Rs. 18 lakh required to build a platform along with a canopy to install a 12 feet bronze statue of Late Ven. Kushok Bakula Rinpoche, Padmabhushan at the Bakula Rinpoche Shrandhanjali Park near Leh airport. LG Mathur gave assurance to take up the matter for favourable consideration of their request.
