Jammu: Continuing the drive to provide better development and basic facilities to the people of Jammu city, Sh Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Advocate Purnima Sharma today on 22/07/2020 inaugurated a super deluxe Toilet Complex near Govt Women College Parade Jammu. Sh Anil Kumar masoom Councilor of ward no.10, Sh Vishav Partap Singh, Sh Darshan Singh, Sh Karan Khajuria , Sh Rahul kumar, Sh. Tarseem Gupta , Sh Delar Singh , Sh Balwant Singh prominent inhabitants of the locality representatives of Parade shopkeepers association as well as Choudhary Gulam Rasool Executive Engineer, Sh Ajay Gupta Asstt. Executive Engineer, Sh Rampaul Junior Engineer of Division –I JMC, Sh Vinay Katal Chairman, Dr. T.R Sharma Gen. Secy., Tariq Mirza Secretary of All J&K NGO’s Federation were also present during the simple function. Mayor told the public that it was the much needed demands of shopkeepers of Parade & its adjoining areas for constructing the toilet complex in this locality as large number of public visits in the nearby Sabzi mandi and parade area for shopping and other allied activities. Moreover, traditional /Historic Brahman Sabha Known as Prashu Ram Bhawan also falls in the locality and number of dignitaries comes here on several important occasions and after the commissioning of this super Toilet complex which is having separate Bathrooms for Gents & ladies, separate urinals /toilets facilities as well as one caretaker room, the locals/shopkeepers as well as visitors will be benefited a lot which has been constructed with an estimate cost of Rs 10.50 lacs only. Mayor further told that JMC has already commissioned about forty number of deluxe toilet complexes within its jurisdiction under “Swacch Bharat Mission” & more such types of toilet complexes will be made available at suitable places on the demands of general public.
Besides this, under Jammu smart city projects modern toilet complexes are also being commissioned in Jammu city. He also lauded the work done by the organization throughout the U.T of J&K regarding sanitation services. The toilet facility is most essential during present COVID-19 pandemic times so that no one defecates in open, he added . He also appeal to the general public to avail these sanitation facilities and avoid open defecation, spitting, urination etc and cooperate with JMC in making Jammu city, neat clean and green . Earlier, Sh Vinay Katal Chairman of All J&K NGO’s federation presented welcome address & gave brief report regarding sanitation activities being done by their organization.
