Jammu: Today karyakartas of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad Jammu Mahanagar staged a strong protest at Parade Chowk against the Semester system in Under Graduate courses . The protest held at Parade chowk near women college . The Karyakartas of ABVP holding hand written posters in hands demanding Roll back semester system in Under Graduate courses across Jammu and Kashmir. While adressing the media Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad Jammu and Kashmir State Secretary Mukesh Manhas said that the students are suffering since 2014 when semester system imposed in under graduate courses . Due to semester system students are not able to do study properly .He further said Semester system faces inadequacy of time, Teachers fail to complete the syllabus in time. In Jammu Kashmir we have summer zone as well Winter zone and in winter zone campuses remain close for 3 to 5 months, so how it can be possible to complete the syllabus within times.
He asserted that we have lack of infrastructure as well lack of faculity in our campuses .
Mukesh Manhas warned the government that the semester system in under graduate courses should roll back and when new session will start the yearly based system( annual system) should start , Otherwise ABVP will go for the statewide strong protest .The government will be responsible for the same.
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad Jammu Mahanagar Secretary Akshay Pardhan Said the semester system in Under Graduate courses makes student is suffering too much .Students are not able to do other extra co-curricular activities due to semester system .
He further said due to semester system the administration is taking the future of the students towards darkness. He said in semester system 90 lectures are compulsory, but in our college campuses only 20 to 30 lectures teacher used to teach .
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad demands that the semester system in Under graduate Courses Should be roll back with immediate effects and yearly based system (annual system ) should start from the next upcoming session .
Otherwise ABVP will go statewide strong protest .
Others who remains in the protest were Nandita Sharma State Joint Secretary , Akash Bhagat, Chahat Anand , Rishav Bali , Danish veer , Chitwan Bali , Dheeraj etc .
