Leh, July 6: Lieutenant Governor R.K. Mathur today flagged off the Sowa-Rigpa Free Medical Camp from the Raj Niwas. Applauding the initiative, LG Mathur expressed his confidence that this would yield benefits for the people of Ladakh.
The project, an initiative of the National Research Institute for Sowa-Rigpa Leh, aims at providing health care for the people of Ladakh by means of providing free mobile medical camps.
Under this project, a full-time Sowa-Rigpa Health care clinic will be set up in Zanskar (Padum) in Kargil district. Free camps shall also be conducted in far-flung villages across Ladakh. The team of doctors will also sensitize the people about COVID-19. They have also developed a brochure on COVID 19 preventive measures in Ladakhi language.
Run under the Tribal Health Care Program of CCRAS, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India, the camp will start from Linghsed and initially cover villages of Skyumpatha, Yulchung, Nyerag, Photoksar, Hanupatha, Hinju, Ursi and Phenjila.
