18 bovine rescued, two arrested in samba: Police

Samba: In continuation with its tirade against bovine smugglers, District Police Samba foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines after arresting 02 bovine smugglers and by rescuing 18 bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal.

Acting on reliable information, regarding smuggling of bovines towards Valley, a Police Party of PS Ghagwal laid a strong vehice checking naka at NHW Tapyal, Ghagwal and intercepted a truck bearing Regd. No. PB10GK-5003 which was coming from Punjab and moving towards Valley.

During checking of the said vehicle, 18 cattle were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission.

The accused driver identified as Ashwani Kumar S/o Kher Singh R/O Basal, Tehsil & District Una, Himachal Pardesh alongwith his associate Mohd. Yasin S/o Gama Ahmed R/O Satha Khorju Nallah, Tehsil & District Samba have been arrested. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting bovines was also seized on spot.

In this connection, a case FIR No. 66/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation taken up
