JAMMU : Health department has strongly refuted a news report “Apathy pushes public Health Centre Majalta to Sickness” appearing in a section of press as devoid of facts and in sharp contrast to actual scenario.
In the news, the contents published are far from the actual truth, a statement issued by the department after thorough investigation stated adding that the actual facts are evident from the report and photographs submitted by CMO Udhampur.
As per the report, in contrast to the contents of the news item, the entrance tiles are quite neat and clean despite the fact that the building is a very old one, constructed with stones in 1970s. Regular cutting of the grass and crushing of the weed is done, and hardly any snake in the campus was sighted in the past one year, the statement added.
Moreover, this PHC was designated as Health and Wellness centre last year and taken up for KayaKalp, which is a component of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan with the objective to promote cleanliness, hygiene and infection control practices in public Health Care facilities, in which it scored 70%.
The department has requested the press to verify the facts with the concerned authorities, before publishing any news item related to the health department.
