UDHAMPUR : Today, the People of Thathi (Patta), Kembal Danga, Neeli Nallah & Dhanu Panchayats of District Udhampur appealed to Government to take stern action against the concern Engineer & Contractor of the Damaged Bridge which was constructed under PMGSY on Dudhar Nallah. On the request of locals, Former MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia today visited on the spot where Sarpanchs, Panchs & locals apprised him that above mentioned Bridge was damaged 10 days back and the work of road widening from Garhi to Gatiyal Morh is under PMGSY and contract was given to TRB named company but later on the said company had sublet the construction work to local political leader which has not the provision in tender. Local people further said that due to collusion of then concern Engineer & Contractor, they used substandard material in the construction work of above said bridge, even the local people had made the video of using substandard material from the local nallah as proof.
NPP President Balwant Singh Mankotia urged Lt Governor G.C Murmu to probe in the matter at earliest of using substandard material in the construction of Bridge & take stern action against concern Engineer & Contractor.
On the occasion Sarpanch Shivdev Singh, Sarpanch Manohar Bhagat, Hoshiar Singh, Subash Singh besides locals were present.
