Jammu: 26 June: Owing to the present pandemic, the Indian Army contributes by manufacturing triple layer cloth masks to meet the increasing demand in the region. Indian Army, while maintaining social distancing practice activated the Women Empowerment Centre at Bhadarwah in District Doda (J&K) for manufacturing of masks by the Women trainees of Stitching and Tailoring Course. The students over a period manufactured around Five Thousand masks which were handed over to civil administration.
This centre has in the past also facilitated women to channelize their energy towards building their career and self dependency. This project is likely to play a vital role in fight against COVID-19 in the region. This initiative was appreciated by the local populace and the Civil Administration.
